39. Thomas Grierson HERRIOT+ was born in 1869 in Leetside, Whitsome.. He was baptized in 1869 in probably Swnton & Hilton. He died on 14 Feb 1946 in Edinburgh, Warriston Cem.. He was buried in 1946 in Warriston Cemetery, Edinburgh. He was Chartered Accountant,Herriot & Hay,Edinburgh. He was educated in Ayton. He was living in Inverleith Terrace, Edinburgh. He was probably presbyterian. Until 1930 he was Hon. Sec.of Ellem Fishihg Club. Seemed a rather pompous Accountant to a young great nephew. (He used to stay for a night or two,when auditing Allan Brothers' accounts.)

Lived Inverleith Terrace with 3 sisters oposite and wife's eldest sister & youngest brother opposite.

Thomas Grierson HERRIOT+ and Winifred Maxwell FERGUSON+ were married in 1910 in Edinburgh. Winifred Maxwell FERGUSON+ (daughter of William FERGUSON W.S.) was born in Edinburgh. **Was 12th child of family of 14 (one dying in infancy).

**Represented Scotland at tennis (Had younger sister who was tennis Ref). Thomas Grierson HERRIOT+ and Winifred Maxwell FERGUSON+ had the following children:

82	i.	Elwyn HERRIOT+ was born in 1911 in Edinburgh. She died in 1995 in New Zealand. Elwyn got around the world and wasn't much talked about in the hearing of the young. Heard of in Australia and later in New Zealand, where she married a dypso doctor, who looked after dypsos and left her a widow. Paddy and I didn't see her, when we were in NZ in 1988, but did speak the once on the phone. I regret never having met her.
