First Generation

1. David MACLAGAN+ was born before 1700. He was described as a Jacobite in 1715. He died in 1766 in Edinburgh. He was a Chamberlain in Perthshire, Banker in Perth. There is a tradition - unsupported by written evidence - that David Maclagan passed with MacIntosh's force across the Firth of Forth in 1715, and after a stay in England returned with a Northumbrian wife to settle in Edinburgh.

Anne or Agnes KER died in 1795 in Edinburgh. She was born in Northumberland. David MACLAGAN+ and Anne or Agnes KER had the following children:

3	ii.	John MACLAGAN was born in 1742.
4	iii.	Christian MACLAGAN was born in 1749. She died in 1794. She was buried in 1794 in Greyfriars Churchyard "four double paces South of Brown Hatter's Tomb"..
