30. Dr Patrick Johnston (Uncle Pat) MACLAGAN MA,DPhil,DD+ was born in 1865 in Berwick-upon-Tweed. Between 1888 and 1915 he was a missionary in Swatow, South China. Between 1915 and 1935 he was a Moderator & Foreign Missions Secretary of Presbiterian Church in England. He was living in Berwick, Swatow, London. He is author of The Gospel View of Things (1906), Chinese Religious Ideas(1926) & other works.
When a missionary in China, translated the New Testament into a Chinese language.
A delightful and memorable man, who occasionally visited his nephew in Berwick.

Dr Patrick Johnston (Uncle Pat) MACLAGAN MA,DPhil,DD+ and Emily Elizabeth GOULD were married in 1897. Dr Patrick Johnston (Uncle Pat) MACLAGAN MA,DPhil,DD+ and Emily Elizabeth GOULD had the following children:
